If your a Disney lover, like me, you’ve been anxiously waiting to find out updated info on some of your favorite events. Disney hosts several ticketed events throughout the year including Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Because of COVID, most ticketed events were cancelled in 2020. However, things seem to be looking up in 2021. Unfortunately, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was cancelled again for 2021 BUT news was just released that Disney After Hours Boo Bash will be happening!

What You Need to Know

Disney After Hours Boo Bash is a ticketed event that will be happening on select nights from August 10th through October 31st. It is a 3 hour event that takes place after the park closes from 9 or 9:30pm (depending on the day) – 12 or 12:30am. Ticket holders can get into the park as early as 7pm on the day of your ticket. You do not need an additional daytime theme park picket to get in at 7pm.

Tickets officially go on sale June 15th but if you already have a resort reservation you be able to book early, starting on June 8th! So start planning!

Prices

Tickets cost $129 to $199 per adult or child (plus tax), depending on the event date and can be purchased online. If you are an annual passholder or Disney Vacation Club member you get $10 off in August or September. Tickets are nontransferable and non refundable so plan in advance, and tickets are limited. Because they limit the amount of tickets you get low wait times to your favorite rides.

  • Free snacks at select locations throughout the park

The Experience

I bet you’re wondering if this event is worth it. I can honestly say from past experiences that these ticketed events are very special. Its like being a VIP at an event or being seated at the Chef’s table at a restaurant. Since its a limited number of tickets, the park “feels” empty. If you’ve ever been to Disney on a crowded day, you know that this in itself is special.

Less people in the park means you get to ride your favorite rides with little to no wait. Its not uncommon for Space Mountain to have a 10 minute wait (and I swear the “10 minutes” was how long it took for us to walk to the front). Peter Pan also had a short wait time (about a 15 minutes).

You also get to see characters you don’t usually see at these events. I got to take a picture with Jack Skellington, in addition to all the normal characters and they are dressed in theme. They also have some cool photo ops where they superimpose different spooky characters or objects into your picture.

I must say, the thing I love MOST is that they have trick or treating stations everywhere. And they are not cheap with the candy. They give handfuls of candy per person (even the adults). It makes for such cute memories for the kids. They also hand out free snacks and drinks at select locations throughout the park. So if you don’t want to buy any of the super cute themed food, you can enjoy the FREE snacks and candy.

Know Before You Go

Walt Disney World is following CDC guidelines where applicable. I just checked the website and you still need to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines. Guidelines can change at any time so make sure to check the website’s “know before you go” section found here for all updated info before your trip.

Don’t forget to wear a costume! I especially love to go in Disney themed costumes but you don’t have to, just make sure it “family-friendly.” Be aware that only kids under 14 may wear a full face costume mask. Eyes must be seen at all times AND they must have unobstructed peripheral vision.

Most of all, don’t forget to have FUN! Travelling with kids anywhere can be daunting and stressful but if you find a way to make it fun and focus on the positive, even parents can have a good time.
